Oriental Rug Preservation
Below is a detailed step by step explanation of how your valuable rug will be cleaned by our certified Oriental rug cleaning specialists.
Step 1: Dusting The most important step of our unique system is dusting the rug. This removes the dirt and dry soil from deep down in the pile. We use a Patented “AIR WAND” with compressed air: The results are amazing. Dusting removes up to 80% more dry soil than vacuuming, shaking or beating, and is very gentle on the rug.
Step 2: Dye Bleed Test There’s no telling which rug will bleed, so we test every single rug.
Step 3: Washing Our wash pit works like a river: we have a constant flow of clean, soft water flowing in as we shampoo and deodorize the rug with a special brush and neutral PH soap. The dirt and contaminants are flowing out of the rug and down the drain. The wash pit is the only guaranteed method that removes 100% of pet urine.
Step 4: Jacuzzi Rinse Our Jacuzzi method is unique to our process – by mixing air and water, we flush out any dirt and soap trapped deep in the foundation of the rug. Otherwise, the dirt and soap will wick up and cause the rug to look dirty after cleaning. Only Jacuzzi Rinsing eliminates this problem.
Step 5: Final Rinse The rugs are hoisted up and out of the pit for their final soft water rinse. The water coming off the rug is almost drinkable.
Step 6: Drying Your valuable rugs may be works of art or family heirlooms that are precious to you. We treat your treasures as if they were our Grandmother’s. Once rinsed, the rugs are hoisted on our drying racks or laid flat depending on type and placed in our drying room. Air movers and dehumidifiers are placed in the room to thoroughly dry the rugs under a controlled environment.
Step 7: Detailed Fringe Work If your particular rug has fringe work, it is also specially cleaned, groomed and brightened.
